Step 1 What can be done by SysEx
Drum setup parameters which can be edited via SysEx are given below. (Refer to "Parameter change," table 3-9 in the XG specification.)

1. ALTERNATE GROUP
F0 43 10 4C 3n rr 03 mm F7
n= a number one less than the drum setup number (1~4) that you wish to edit; i.e., a value of 0~3. (Likewise for each of the following parameters)
rr= hexadecimal representation of the drum instrument number that you wish to edit = 0D~5B (Likewise for each of the following parameters)
mm= hexadecimal representation of the group number. 00H is OFF, range 01H~7FH
Default value: depends on the note (instrument)

*XG tone generators are required to have at least two drum setups; i.e., editable drum parts. However, upper level models such as the MU80, MU90, and MU100 have up to four such setups. This means that if you are creating a MIDI file intended for tone generators which follow the standard XG format, you should use no more than two drum setups. On standard XG tone generators such as the MU50, the third and subsequent drum setup will be ignored even if specified by your data.

2.KEY ASSIGN
F0 43 10 4C 3n rr 08 mm F7
mm= 00H (single) or 01H (multi)
Default value: 00H (single)

3.RECEIVE NOTE OFF
F0 43 10 4C 3n rr 09 mm F7
mm= 00H (OFF) or 01H (ON)
Default value: depends on the note

4.RECEIVE NOTE ON
F0 43 10 4C 3n rr 0A mm F7
mm=00H (OFF) or 01H (ON)
Default value: 01H (ON)

5.EG DECAY 1 RATE

F0 43 10 4C 3n rr 0E mm F7
mm=00H (-64)~40H (0)~7FH (+63)
Default value: 40H

6.EG DECAY 2 RATE
F0 43 10 4C 3n rr 0F mm F7
mm=00H(-64)~40H(0)~7FH(+63)
Default value: 40H

7.OUTPUT SELECT**
F0 43 10 4C 3n rr 40 mm F7
mm=00H (stereo OUT), 08H (independent OUT1 and 2), 28H (independent OUT1), 29H (independent OUT2)

** This parameter is valid only on XG tone generators such as the MU100R which have individual OUT jacks.

8.VELOCITY SENSE PITCH
***

F0 43 10 4C 3n rr 60 mm F7
mm=30H(-16)~40H(0)~50H(+16)
Default value: 40H

***Since this parameter is part of the extended XG specifications, it will have an effect only on upper-level models such as the MU90 and MU100.

9.VELOCITY SENSE LPF CUTOFF
*
**
F0 43 10 4C 3n rr 61 mm F7
mm=30H (-16)~40H (0)~50H (+16)
Default value: 40H

***Since this parameter is part of the extended XG specifications, it will have an effect only on upper-level models such as the MU90 and MU100.
