Step 6 Tips for the Check item settings
The user can specify which items will be checked by XG Checker (figure 8). By default, all items except for XF will be checked, but in this case some files can produce a gigantic number of "errors" or "warnings," and the text file which is output may be as large as several hundred kilobytes, which will complicate rather than ease the checking process.
The main causes of a excessive number of "warning" messages are probably "short durations" and "low velocities." These two messages do help you find locations where a note was inadvertently touched during input, or editing mistakes. However the program makes no distinction for notes which were intentionally input with short durations or low velocities, such as for the drum part. Similarly, "note range" or "multiple notes" will also produce a large number of warning messages.

If this is a problem, make sure that the data is intentional, and change the "Setting" items. This can be done from the "Settings" item of the file menu. In the dialog box that appears, choose "Custom" and then "Select," and then remove the check marks as desired from the dialog box that appears so that these items will not be checked (figure 9). Since this "Setting" data can be saved and loaded, you can modify and use different types of settings as appropriate.
If the "Report in all cases" item under Multiple Note On is checked, cases in which the note-off of the previous note and the note-on of the next note occur at the same timing will also be reported as Multiple Notes. In actual use, there will normally be no problem with leaving this unchecked.
